Alexandra De Matteo
A mere 45-minute conversation with Alexandra Rose DeMatteo can change your entire outlook on life. Her infectious positivity, multifaceted talents, and deep spiritual connection leave an indelible impression that lingers long after the call ends.
"Life is so great. God is so great," Alexandra enthuses when asked about her most precious memories. "There's so many blessings in life." Her joy is palpable even through a phone call. It's clear that for Alexandra, happiness stems from being "surrounded by the people I love, and everybody's just smiling and laughing."
Early Life
Alexandra, the founder of A.D. Rose Studios, is a force of nature. A New York native, she grew up in an interfaith household, attending Hebrew school and having a bat mitzvah while also celebrating Christmas and Easter with her Italian grandparents. This diverse background seems to have fostered her open and adaptable approach to life.
Her academic journey led her to earn a Bachelor's degree from the S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University, followed by a Master of Public Policy with a concentration in International Conflict Resolution and Mediation from Tel Aviv University. This education laid the foundation for her multifaceted career.
Threads of Wisdom
Alexandra's positive outlook isn't a recent development. When asked if she was always this upbeat in high school, Alexandra confirms, "Yeah, I was on the no-plan plan." This carefree attitude has served her well, allowing her to approach life with open arms and an open heart.
Alexandra's spiritual connection is a cornerstone of her philosophy. "I've really trusted my intuition, and I've trusted that my faith will speak to me," she explains. This faith manifests not just in words but through experiences and interactions. "Once you are on the ride with God and you are having that sort of interaction, then you see it unfold throughout your life," she says.
Her approach to yoga and breathing exemplifies her spiritual-meets-practical mindset. When stress threatens to overwhelm her, Alexandra turns to breathwork. "I will drop all my stuff, and I will take 10 minutes to just either breathe and walk or sit and breathe or stretch for a little bit," she shares. This simple practice serves as a reset button, often leading to unexpected resolution of problems.
Alexandra's diverse interests and talents shine through in her work. She conducts yoga sessions with veterans, creates art, writes songs, and works in the news. Her ultimate goal? "I want to reach everyone and be able to do my own thing," she says. This desire for freedom and self-expression underpins everything she does.
When asked what she would do with a million dollars, Alexandra's response is generous: "Definitely invest in doing my own thing, do God's work, but also find the people who need it and share." Her belief that "there's no fun in life if you're not sharing with people" speaks volumes about her character.
